As a word nerd, I squeal when taking a peek at the Online Etymology Dictionary and can’t wait to see what words will be added to the dictionary each year. Needless to say, I have a special place in my heart for onomatopoeias 1 : the naming of a thing or action by a vocal imitation of the sound associated with it (as buzz, hiss) 2 : the use of words whose sound suggests the sense” (thank you Merriam-Webster). There is something so exhilarating about these magical words that bring a sentence to life. It makes me BUZZ with excitement!
